Our Story

FRANK GRANATO IMPORTING COMPANY, EST 1948

The Frank Granato Importing Company was established in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1948 by Francesco (Frank) Salvatore Granato but the idea was being shaped for decades prior to its official founding. Just prior to his birth in 1914, Frank's parents Salvatore and Maria Spatafore Granato immigrated to the United States from San Giovanni in Fiore, Italy near Sicily and settled in Utah. Growing up, Frank learned to work hard, make friends everywhere he went and to love his Italian & Mediterranean heritage.

Frank's love for both his community and his ancestral roots inspired him to bring the two together. Now 3 generations later, his family continues to share their love of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine at 2 different locations. Frank's work ethic and desire to treat the customer like family are still present along with an ever-growing selection of pasta, oils, vinegar, gift baskets, sweets and so much more.

Both of our locations offer a flavorful Mediterranean-inspired menu featuring more than 20 different sandwiches, boasting fresh produce along with the fine Italian meats you know and love and some to which you may yet need to be introduced. In true Italian fashion, we never want anyone to leave hungry. Our portion sizes reflect this, so when you visit know that our sandwiches are sure to fill the hungriest of appetites.
